This is a critical election – 3 Winnetka Park District Board seats, each with 4-year terms.
A lot can happen in four years. Our campaign is about progress with integrity. Winnetka desperately needs Commissioners who will bring a fresh perspective, and that is exactly what the VOTE 1-2-4 Candidates have to offer.
A fresh perspective means thoroughly studying complex issues, synthesizing short- and long-term planning decisions, and making prudent financial decisions representing our entire community. We are committed to active listening, to debating professionally, yet aligning and executing, and stewarding your tax dollars with optimal efficiency.
If honored to serve as your Winnetka Park District Board Commissioners, we will:
- Support the Temporary Opening of Elder Beach in 2025 and Explore Long-Term Solutions for ALL Beaches
- Support the temporary opening of Elder Beach in 2025, while bringing ‘a fresh perspective’ to the review for a long-term solution for Elder-Centennial
- Have ‘no preconceived solutions’ and work with the existing Board, Staff, and other Governmental Agencies to collectively problem-solve – smartly, fiscally, and prudently
- Explore Opportunities for New Facilities, including Pool, Multi-Purpose Facility, and Ice Needs
- Per the WPD Comprehensive Master Plan feedback, explore the priorities of the community from ice arena to indoor/outdoor swimming pool to multipurpose facility
- Further study the plan proposed by the skating/hockey community for a second sheet of ice, and working with the organizers on obtaining private donations for the project, all as indicated by a feasibility study
- Build Out More Robust Programming
- The initial results of the WPD Comprehensive Master Plan survey results point to gaps across several key resident categories, and we wish to explore and solve them with new programming – either WPD-led or third-party contracted
- We are committed to providing kids with every opportunity to engage with others, be active, and spend some critical moments ‘off devices’
